The Bombay cat has the same people loving personality as the Burmese but perhaps a little bolder. They are very playful and agile. The breed is very muscular though on the smaller side and are good climbers. The Bombay is a hybrid breed developed by crossing Burmese with registered Black American shorthair cats in the 1950's and reached purebred registered status in the 1970's. They have a glossy satin black coat and large round dark yellow or orange eyes. Occasionally we have produced the rare chocolate Bombay color. This color is solid dark brown with the same eye coloring as the Bombay.
Outcrosses to Burmese are permitted and registerable in TICA as Burmese or Bombay according to their color as they are genetically full Burmese or hybrud Bombay.. All regular Burmese colors are possible as well as black and chocolate Bombay. . |
